Y8 Tile Barn trip - April 25

During the first weekend after the Easter Holidays, 62 of our Year 8s took a trip to Tile Barn in the New Forest. We stayed in their pod village, which though cold, was a lovely way to camp. We arrived at midday on Friday for a quick lunch before our activities. Students were spilt into six groups with three groups doing rock climbing and the other three doing Jacobs ladder. In the evening after a lovely dinner, we roasted marshmallows and played games before heading to bed. 

Saturday's schedule was full up! We had four different activities to tackle, these being the trapeze, Low Ropes, Fire making and Archery. The students showed amazing teamwork during the Low Ropes and bravery during the trapeze. For evening activities,  we had a game of rounders and other field activities.

Sunday saw us complete two activities with water rockets and gutter run, both activities requiring teamwork and communication and the students excelled.

The students behaviour was impeccable throughout and were a credit to Calthorpe Park School - a great time was had by all. Staff are already excited for next year's trip.
