Community Notices
Message from Hampshire Countryside Services regarding works taking place on certain footpaths over the next few weeks:
We will shortly begin improvement works on several local footpaths as part of our ongoing maintenance of the Public Rights of Way network. These works will make the routes more accessible, and easier to use for everyone —particularly school children, residents, and local businesses. Improvements will include a new all-weather tarmac surface and, on some routes, new lighting.
Once complete, the paths will be upgraded from footpaths to bridleways to support increased cycle use and wider community needs. Although horse use isn’t expected in this residential area, the routes will still be accessible to all.
Before the works begin, we will place notices along the routes and write to nearby residents with additional information. For safety, some footpaths will need to be closed at certain times, and the work will be completed in phases to minimise disruption. The attached map shows the areas and timings.
