College & Careers

Careers advice and guidance starts in Y7 and continues in each year group.  This takes the form of outside speakers, events, work place visits and is embedded across the curriculum.

In your final year here at Calthorpe Park, there are plenty of opportunities for you to prepare for what you will do and where you will go after leaving school.  Early in the Autumn Term, there will be a meeting for all Y11 students and their parents to talk about colleges and the application process, with college representatives attending and giving talks.  At the same time we publish the list of all college open evenings as the majority of them take place in September, October and November, so plan your visits and go to as many colleges as you can to get the best idea of the right one for you.  Check the college websites for full details and also for application forms or information about how to apply, including their deadlines.  Farnborough 6th Form is our partner college, so if you apply to them, their tutors come into school to conduct interviews, usually in the Spring term.  For any queries, please contact Ms Wayman or Mrs Al-Dabagh, or email:
