What our staff say

Hear from our staff:

As a Calthorpe Park parent of four children and a former student myself, the school has always been at the heart of my community. I initially joined the team as a parent volunteer in the MFL department and then as a part-time invigilator. When the position of School Receptionist became available, I was thrilled to be offered and accept this full-time role.

Learning the ropes as the front face of the school was a baptism of fire, but with an accumulation of knowledge under my belt, I loved the daily interaction with students, colleagues, parents, governors and visitors. The job can be challenging and fast-paced but most of all is extremely rewarding. My confidence in handling unplanned situations grew with the support of colleagues and I was able to acquire a host of other skills on the job.

Calthorpe Park is an environment of opportunities and encouragement with a firm focus on staff wellbeing. Now as the Headteacher’s PA, I very much maintain the skillset I developed within the Reception team whilst benefitting from training, mentoring and progression in other areas.

I first started my Calthorpe Park Journey in 2015 as a Learning Support Assistant, this gave me a great basis for learning about the school and the students.

I moved on to working in the Medical Room as a School Health and Welfare Officer, I enjoyed the interactions with students and caring for the school community. No two days were the same and the variety of skills needed and ever adapting demands of the school (particularly over Covid!) meant the job was always challenging me.

I left Calthorpe Park School for a brief spell before returning to work in the Attendance team, my previous knowledge of students has been very beneficial in my new role and I am keen to learn more about Secondary School Attendance.

I enjoy working at Calthorpe Park School for many reasons, essentially I like being part of the school community whilst being able to grow and learn through the cohesive training and development.
