Post Results Service

If you have concerns with your results, Exam Boards offer a chargeable post-results service, where access to question papers, mark schemes and Principal Examiner reports can be requested in order to help you understand why marks have been given. Some awarding bodies also offer a free 'Priority Access to Scripts' Service. Please bare in mind that grades can go up as well as down, should these services be accessed.

GRADE BOUNDARIES

If you want to know how close you are to the next grade for a particular subject you can check the grade boundaries for each exam board on their websites using the links below.

Ideally you should only be a couple of marks away from the next grade to consider pursuing a Review of Marking given that there will be a minimum cost £40 per paper

AQA released on 21st August 2025
OCR released on 21st August 2025
WJEC/Eduqas released on 21st August 2025
* Please note that you must select Brand: Educas for grade boundaries applied In England, not WJEC
Pearson/EDEXL released on 21st August 2025

Please note that the grade boundaries for the June 2025 exams will not be available until results day (21st August 2025)

ACCESS TO SCRIPTS

Deadline: Wednesday 3rd September 2025

Students can request a priority copy of the marked exam paper, to decide if they want to go ahead with a Review of Marking application. Requesting access to scripts/papers is free.

If you wish to go ahead with this service, please complete the Access to Scripts Request form. A link to the form will be sent to students in a letter on Edulink, ahead of the GCSE Results Day.

REQUEST FOR ACCESS TO SCRIPTS FORM (will open on results day).

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.

If you have any queries, please email the Exams Team - please note the school will not be open until Wednesday 3rd September 2025

REVIEW OF MARKING

Deadline: Sunday 21st September 2025

This is a post-results review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly. It is not a re-marking of the student’s examination paper. The awarding body will have trained its reviewers to conduct reviews of marking accurately and consistently.

This service will include:

  • a clerical re-check
  • a review of marking as described above

It is always advisable to get a copy first (ACCESS TO SCRIPTS) as reviews rarely result in an improved overall grade and sometimes result in lower marks. Do also check the grade boundaries as it is rare for marks to go up by more than 2 or 3.

If you wish to go ahead with this service, you will need the paper codes (not the specifcation code) - these were on the Component Results sheet that you were given when you collected your results.

REQUEST FOR REVIEW OF MARKING FORM (will open on results day).

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.

If you have any queries, please email the Exams Team - please note the school will not be open until Wednesday 3rd September

REVIEW OF MARKING CHARGES AND FEES 2024

There is a fee payable for each paper reviewed. Charges for this service are payable in advance, BEFORE we will submit the request to the Exambaord. It will be added to the student's Scopay account once the form has been submitted. Students must  therefore leave their Scopay accounts active. If the review of marking results in a grade change (not just a mark change), this will be refunded and the school will be in touch to arrange this.

The cost for a review of marking is on a per paper basis and differs across the Examboards. The charges and fees below are based on the June 2025 GCSEs

AQA: £43.50 per paper, payable in advance
OCR: £65.25 per paper, payable in advance
WJEC/Eduqas: £43 per paper, payable in advance
Pearson/EDEXL: £46.70 per paper, payable in advance

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
