STEM trip to Winchester - June 2016

On 23rd June, fourteen  female students headed to the Winchester Science Centre to take part in the UK-wide ‘Women in Engineering Day’.  The day was a celebration of women in STEM careers and the morning consisted of a tour of the science centre and interactive displays, the planetarium show, and meeting with female STEM ambassadors from a range of industrial and science-lead occupations.  In the afternoon our students participated in a real life engineering challenge: to design a motorised system to transport fruit long distances, without the fruit being damaged.  A fun and educational day was had by all!
