Solstice Renewables trip - November 2015

In association with Solstice Renewables, a solar energy company that will be building a new solar energy park in Hartley Witney, Mr Hainsworth’s Year 10 Systems and Control class took part in a STEM energy challenge.

Their brief was to design and build a model car to be powered solely by solar energy. All the pupils learnt about how solar energy works and its environmental benefits, and constructed a model car before taking to the playground to race against each other.

All the cars were able to race powered by sunlight, not bad considering it was in the middle of November!

A great morning’s work by all involved.
