Gremlin Dance Challenge - March 2026

Our Year 8 students; Amelie O’M, Libby B, Darcey N, Leah S, Flo D, Emilie R, Lana B, Rose W, Annabel R, Phoebe J, Juliet C and Niamh L proudly represented Calthorpe Park School at the Gremlin Dance Challenge held at Princes Hall on Thursday 12th March. They competed against ten other secondary schools, with this year’s theme being ‘Icons’.

We entered two teams:

  • CPS Criminals, inspired by Michael Jackson (Amelie, Libby, Darcey, Leah, Flo, Emilie and Lana)

  • Isadora Duncan – Atlantis, portraying the story and style of the iconic dancer (Rose, Annabel, Phoebe, Juliet and Niamh)

Both groups choreographed their own routines and have shown an incredible level of commitment, working tirelessly since September during afterschool practices and lunchtime rehearsals. Their performances were outstanding, and they should feel incredibly proud of themselves, as are we!

A special congratulations to the CPS Criminals team for winning the award for ‘Best Execution of Choreography’ — a testament to their excellent technique, precise movements, confidence, expressive performance, and impeccable timing.

We would also like to thank Seren N for giving up her time every Monday after school to help support our dancers with their routines as well as backstage at the competition.

We are already looking forward to taking part again next year!
