Year 10 DT Workshops - October 2025

Our Year 10 students had an inspiring and educational visit to the London Design Museum, where they explored the current design exhibition showcasing innovative and thought-provoking work. A highlight of the day was the engaging workshop on sustainability and chair design. Students participated in lively class discussions, created rough visual designs, and presented their ideas, demonstrating creativity and thoughtful consideration of environmental impact in design.

Following the museum visit, we took a short walk in pleasantly dry weather to the Museum of Brands. There, students journeyed through the fascinating Time Tunnel, observing the evolution of packaging from the Victorian era to the present day. The UK Sci-Fi exhibition added a fun and futuristic twist, sparking curiosity about how branding and design intersect with popular culture.

Traveling by train and tube was smooth overall, though the return journey was a bit crowded. Despite that, the students remained in good spirits and represented the school well throughout the day.

This trip offered a rich blend of hands-on learning, historical insight, and creative exploration—an excellent opportunity for students to connect classroom concepts with real-world design.
