A Warm Welcome to Helen and Charlie from Caring Canines!
We are delighted to officially welcome Helen and her gorgeous therapy dog Charlie to Calthorpe. They will be joining us every Wednesday, offering support sessions with selected students.
During break times, you can find them in the courtyard, all students are welcome to stop by and say hello—Charlie absolutely loves meeting new friends!
Children’s Mental Health Week: This Is My Place
This week our school has been celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week, with the theme “This Is My Place.” Throughout the week, students explored what belonging means to them and why feeling part of a community is so important for wellbeing.
In tutor time, activities planned by our Mental Health Ambassadors encouraged students to reflect on the places in school where they feel safe, supported and able to be themselves. Teachers also shared photos of their own special places around school, sparking great conversations about connection and community.
On Friday, students took part in a fun quiz, guessing different locations around school where students said they felt they belonged. We also watched a video featuring students talking about their own “place” in school and why it matters to them.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this week meaningful for our whole school community.
