Scholastic Book Fair - Nov/Dec 2025

We welcomed back the Scholastic Book Fair this term – we love to mark the approaching Christmas break with some lovely shiny new books and provide the opportunity for some handy Christmas shopping! We have been well supported by students, parents and carers for the last couple of years so we kept our fingers crossed that it would again be a success – and we certainly weren’t disappointed.

The fair was open to all students to come along to browse and buy during break, lunchtime and after school, and both Year 7 and 8 had scheduled visits during their English lessons. We always enjoy seeing students relish the chance to explore a wealth of new books and additionally peruse a bit of quirky stationery. The unique aspect of the Book Fair is that, due to Scholastic’s reward scheme, a percentage of any money made can be ploughed back into our school library for our students to enjoy. The students can make their suggestions as to what they would like to see added to our stock, and throughout the year we order in a range of their choices. It’s a brilliant way to boost the range of books we can provide for the students – and it’s all down to your fantastic support.

So, a huge thank you as, after many, many book orders and stationery purchases, we are delighted to say we made £1000 which then provides the library with £500 worth of new books – all possible due to your generosity and belief that reading matters. We hope you enjoy a relaxing reading Christmas!
