Brooklands Innovation Academy - October 2025

Year 8 students recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Brooklands Museum, accompanied by Ms Wayman and Mrs Cairns, for a special STEM event.

The day included a range of hands-on workshops around the museum, from code-breaking challenges to trying their hand at painting road markings. These activities gave students a chance to apply problem-solving skills in fun and practical ways.

A real highlight was hearing from guest speaker, Professor Brian Cox, who spoke about science and space in a way that really engaged and inspired the students.

Brooklands, with its history in engineering, aviation and motorsport, was the perfect setting for a day focused on science and technology. The students explored the museum’s exhibits and took part in activities that encouraged curiosity and teamwork.

It was a great opportunity for students to see how STEM subjects connect to the real world—and they returned to school full of enthusiasm.
