9 to 5 The Musical - July 2025

‘9 to 5 – The Musical’ was just amazing and we are so incredibly proud of everyone who took part and participated in the show.  Over 150 students worked tirelessly and collaboratively on this production, demonstrating how hard work, commitment and a passion to do what you love was clearly shared with largely sold out audiences for each of the five night run, ensuring that everyone involved “shined like the sun” from start to finish. It was a very special show to be part of and that is largely down to our dedicated students whose enthusiasm for the production made it so very special.  Our Principals were excellent role models to other cast members; they came to rehearsals well-prepared and always ready to work hard. The dance captains worked every lunchtime choreographing and supporting students with musical numbers and it was also lovely to have student band members come to support our late rehearsals to ensure the timing and harmonies of some of Dolly Parton’s challenging numbers were perfect. We created the show in twelve weeks and during this time their stamina and love for the show never faltered. The company never gave up and always wanted to prove their own worth on the stage, even when working behind it!  A truly remarkable experience for us all to treasure.

The Music Department was delighted to form an 18-piece band of staff and student musicians to provide the musical accompaniment to our show, Nine to Five. The upbeat score is full of memorable and varied songs, which we enjoyed rehearsing and playing over a number of weeks before they were ready to perform at our run of shows last week. We enjoyed the most beautiful singing, amazing acting and sublime playing, culminating in a final night we will all remember. Everyone involved in Nine to Five gave their all to make such a memorable run of shows.
