Snowsports - April 2024

After a long 24 hour coach journey we arrived at Tonale to find it had the best late season snow conditions in years. Mauro and his family welcomed us to the Albergo Sciatori where we stayed a short walk from the pistes. Warm conditions meant an early start to get the best of the snow, except on Wednesday when it snowed all day and one teacher lost their group and made their way bravely off the mountainside on their own. There were five groups of skiers and two groups of snowboarders so CPS were well represented on the slopes. The snowbord instructors pushed their groups hard with the novices managing a jump on the first day and even a black run by the end of the week. Off-piste fun saw silly hats awarded, games of bingo won, quizzes, swimming, a disco hosted by Mr Talibart and Mr Marshall-James and a lot of Italian ice cream sampled (gelato molte bene!).

All too soon Friday evening came and with tired legs and happy memories we boarded Pablo’s Cool Coach. We said “Arrivedeci” to Tonale and settled in for a long sleep during the overnight trip home.

Many thanks to Mr Marshall-James, Mr Talibart, Mrs Glover, Miss Barnes, Miss Charlton, Mr Forster and Miss Talleraas for their continuous hardwork and support throughout this trip which made it a memorable adventure for our students.
