DOES THIS AFFECT PICK UP WHEN WE HAVE A PRE-ARRANGED APPOINTMENT OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL, AT THE DOCTORS FOR EXAMPLE?

Not at all. If you have are collecting a child in order to attend a pre-arranged appointment, you will be able to drive on-site and park in the visitor’s bays outside Reception.

 

WHAT IF I ONLY NEED TO COLLECT MY CHILD TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY, FOR A PRE-ARRANGED APPOINTMENT.

Whilst you will still be able to park by Reception to collect your child, given the risk of congestion you may wish to arrange to meet your child outside of school, a short distance from the gates to avoid getting caught in traffic.

 

MY CHILD HAS SPECIAL NEEDS BUT WE ARE WITHIN THE BOUNDARY DEEMED SUITABLE FOR WALKING. ARE WE ELIGIBLE?

MY CHILD IS TEMPORARILY INJURED, CAN I HAVE A TEMPORARY PASS?

WILL YOU ISSUE TEMPORARY PASSES FOR SHORT-TERM USAGE?

Potentially, where exceptional circumstances arise, we can issue temporary permits. Please email cpspermits@cps.hants.sch.uk explaining your circumstances.

 

MY CHILD PLAYS AN INSTRUMENT, CAN I PICK THEM UP ON DAYS WHEN THEY HAVE LESSONS?

No. If the instrument is heavy or large, we suggest that you make an arrangement with your child to meet a short distance (5-10 minute walk) away from the school on these days.

 

DOES THIS AFFECT PICK UP WHEN I’VE BEEN CALLED BECAUSE MY CHILD IS ILL?

Not at all. If you have been contacted by the school to collect a poorly child, you will be able to drive on-site and park in the visitor’s bays outside Reception.

 

WE LIVE INSIDE THE POSTCODE AREA BUT MY CHILD TRAVELS IN FROM A POSTCODE OUTSIDE THE AREA – WHAT DO WE DO?

WE HAVE A JOINT CUSTODY ARRANGEMENT WHICH VARIES FROM WEEK-TO-WEEK. SOME DAYS MY CHILD WILL BE INSIDE THE BOUNDARY ON OTHER DAYS MY CHILD IS OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARY. CAN WE HAVE A PERMIT?

IS A PERMIT ISSUED FOR A STUDENT OR A VEHICLE?

Permits are issued for specific vehicles and associated registration numbers. Applications can be made for up to two permits per eligible postcode. A registration number will be required for each permit.

 

WILL YOU BE CHECKING PERMITS?

Yes.

 

WILL PERMITS HAVE AN EXPIRY DATE?

Yes. Permits will expire in Summer 2023, when you will be contacted by the school about the application process for the next academic year.

 

CAN I PAY FOR A PERMIT?

No. This will not be an option.

I DO NOT AGREE THAT THREE MILES IS AN ACCEPTABLE DISTANCE TO WALK. WHO DO I RAISE THIS WITH?

WILL YOU STOP ME FROM ENTERING THE SITE IF I DO NOT HAVE A PERMIT?

Yes.

 

IS THERE ANY FLEXIBILITY FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER SUCH AS SNOW/ICE, WHEN IT MIGHT NOT BE SAFE TO WALK HOME?

No as additional traffic and inclement weather are not necessarily a safer alternative. We suggest you make a ‘back-up’ arrangement with your child to meet a short distance (5-10 minute walk) away from the school in the event that you would need to drive in this situation

 

MY NEIGHBOUR IS ELIGIBLE FOR A PERMIT BUT I’M NOT. HOW IS THAT FAIR?

The postcode boundaries have been defined by Hampshire County Council/Hart District Council. Please address any queries regarding this to them directly at schooltravelplans@hants.gov.uk

 

I MISSED THE CLOSING DATE BUT I NEED A PERMIT FOR SEPTEMBER. WHAT CAN I DO?

We will process the applications received by the closing date in the first instance. After this time, we will look at any subsequent applications as soon as we can. However, this may not be until the Autumn Term, so we suggest you make alternative arrangements until you hear back from us regarding your application.

 

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A REPLACEMENT PERMIT, IN THE EVENT THAT I LOSE MINE?

Replacements can be requested at cpspermits@cps.hants.sch.uk. Please note that a £10 administration fee will apply.

 

I’M ELIGIBLE FOR A PERMIT AND I NORMALLY COLLECT ANOTHER STUDENT (WHO ISN’T ELIGIBLE). IS THIS A PROBLEM?

It is up to you who travels in your car, and if you are eligible for a permit you will be able to park on site. However, we would encourage all families to look for alternative opportunities to travel to and from school in a more active way. Perhaps there is an opportunity for your child to walk to/from this second address, saving you time and providing a fresh air and exercise opportunity for both children?

 

CAN MY CHILD SCOOTER TO SCHOOL?

Electric scooters are not permitted. Traditional scoooters are permitted though the school does not currently have safe storage space and cannot be held liable for any losses. We will monitor the requirement for scooter storage.

 

CAN MY CHILD CYCLE TO SCHOOL?
