Weekly Update – 5 December 2025

The last few tickets for the Christmas Concert on Wednesday 10 December can be purchased here.

See this letter about our charity fundraising Christmas Jumper Day at the end of term.

A huge thank you for your support of the Book Fair this year. It was lovely to see so many students relishing the chance to browse some great new books, and we have been blown away by your generosity. It means that our library gets a percentage of the sales and, this year, because of your support, we can add several hundred pounds worth of books to our shelves. The students will, of course, get the opportunity to suggest what they would like to see added to our selection. We hope all our shoppers enjoy their books over the Christmas break!

We are holding a Business Day for our Year 10 students on Thursday 26 February 2026 and are looking for volunteers who would be able to come in that day to run workshops in the morning and/or to conduct mock interviews with these students in the afternoon.  If you are able to commit to this time and help us, please complete this form.  Thanks for your support!

Term Dates – we finish for the Christmas holidays on Friday 19 December at 12.50pm.  Please check this page on the website for details of key dates and parent consultations across the remainder of the school year.

Thank you very much for all your donations to the Hart Food Bank during November!  If you would still like to donate to the Food Bank, see this link for items that are currently needed and locations to leave donations.  Final totals per house are shown below:

On the last two Tuesdays, we hosted a Christmas-themed Multi-Skills event for Years 1-4 pupils from 14 local infant, junior and primary schools here at Calthorpe! Our Year 11 students Daisy, Maia, Erin, Poppy, Paige and Zoe, along with our Year 10 students Emilia, Jorja, Isla K, Natalia, Kaelee and Amy B as well as our Year 9, 8 and 7 students Olivia, Megan, Adaline, Phoebee, Bee, Emilie, Isabelle, Emma, Amelie, Darcey, Chloe and Edith, assisted in organising and running numerous activities for 60 pupils. This was a School Games Event designed to encourage children to be physically active. Every activity had a Christmas theme and included a variety of fundamental movement skills. We even had a surprise visit from our very own CPS Santa!

To get our event started, Santa played a game of ‘Santa Says’. Following some more warm up games, the children were taken to the various activities to complete. Our students explained and demonstrated the activities There was Santa Dash, Snowball Run, Santa vs The Grinch, Elf Kurling, Santa’s Obstacle Course, Throw to the North Pole and many more. All the children took part in the activities, practising skills such as throwing, catching, running, hopping, jumping, dodging and many more. The children displayed great resilience, determination and fantastic teamwork skills. Our students were exemplary role models and created a positive and fun environment for the primary school pupils. One pupil said ‘this is the best day ever!’.
