Weekly Update โ 4 September
Welcome back to all students, staff and families for the new academic year! In particular, we welcome our new Year 7 students and other new starters.
Early Closure: As it’s our Open Evening for Year 6 children on Thursday 17 September, school will close at 1.20pm that day. If your child cannot leave or be collected at that time, please complete this form and we will arrange supervision until 3pm.
Photos: This week over a thousand students in Years 7, 9 and 11 had their photos taken – a huge thank you to the Captured Moments team for facilitating this and so seamlessly. Parents are reminded that:
– Photo links will be shared by 29 September
– Orders received by 12 October will receive a 20% discount
– Printed photos will be distributed to students from early November
Free School Meals: Recent Government changes may affect eligibility for Free School Meals (FSM) and Pupil Premium funding. We encourage all parents and carers currently receiving FSM, or who think they may be eligible, to check their entitlement here. See our letter about these changes sent out in July.

Trips: After a busy year in the Trips Department, we would like to thank all the students who took part in our trips during 2025/6. We hope you had an amazing and memorable experience.
See this link to the Special Trips Bulletin, which showcases the exciting adventures and learning opportunities available for this academic year.
The Trips Poster outlines all the trips that are currently open for applications from Tuesday, 1 September. We look forward to welcoming many of you on our future trips.
Check our Term Dates page regularly for all key dates across the year.
Clubs: The majority of our lunchtime and after school clubs have been updated on this page, but do check for updates as changes will be made across the term.
Our last Newsletter of the 25/26 year can be found here. We hope you enjoy reading about the many interesting and varied events that took place last half term.
Weโre holding a Careers Fair here on 22 September and looking for companies/local businesses who can talk to our students about career options, pathways and required qualifications. If you work for a company who could offer advice about post-16 options and would like to book a table, please complete this form.
