Year 9 STEM Event/Wind Turbines – On Tuesday, students explored renewable energy and its role in powering communities. They investigated key concepts such as gearing systems, blade design, and energy conversion. Their practical challenge was to design and build a wind turbine featuring optimised blades, an effective gearing mechanism, and a stable supporting tower to maximise electricity generation. Through this hands-on project, students developed their engineering, design, and analytical skills. The session concluded with a team pitch, where students presented their turbine designs and evaluated their performance.

Next week (Tuesday 21 April) Year 9 will be involved in a workshop with the local Police. Please check your Edulink messages for further details.
