Year 8 trip to Tile Barn โ€“ 15-17 May

Our Year 8 students enjoyed a fantastic weekend residential trip to Tile Barn Outdoor Centre in the heart of the New Forest. We were lucky that the weather was kind to us throughout, allowing everyone to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and full programme of activities.

Students took part in a wide range of challenges designed to build confidence, resilience and teamwork. One of the most popular activities was theย Quick Flight, which saw pupils taking a leap of faith with big smiles (and a few nervous laughs!). Many students showed real bravery as they pushed themselves to try something new.

A real highlight for many was the campfire evening, where students gathered together to toast marshmallows and enjoy time relaxing with their friends. These quieter moments were just as important as the activities, helping to strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.

During the stay, students were based in cosy pods, which added to the sense of adventure and independence. Students also took responsibility for tasks such as washing up, giving them a valuable opportunity to develop life skills and work together as a team outside the classroom.

Across the trip, it was wonderful to see students supporting one another, stepping outside their comfort zones, and embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm. Staff were incredibly proud of the positive attitude, teamwork and resilience shown by all.

Overall, the Year 8 residential to Tile Barn was a huge success, full of laughter, challenge and memorable experiences that will stay with students for years to come. This trip would not have been possible without Mr Moore, Mr Heskins, Ms Poceviciene, Mrs Coleman and Mrs Dalzell giving up their weekend to support it.
