Sri Lanka trip – fundraising 2026

Calthorpe Park School’s Sri Lanka Team 2026 have been incredibly busy fundraising since May 2025 in preparation for their trip to Sri Lanka in October 2026.

Originally setting themselves a target of £8,500, the group have gone all out with their fundraising, achieving, to date, more than £25,000.

From regular bake sales and sponsored events to climbing mountains, abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower, and selling items online, these students are showing real creativity, commitment, and teamwork in their fundraising efforts.

Their fundraising has provided school unforms and bags to three preschools in more remote parts of Easter Province, Sri Lanka, has funded the renewal of a playground and has repaired the vehicle the deaf school in Batticaloa uses to bring children to the school.

Students will be able to see some of the projects for which they have raised funds when they visit Sri Lanka in October.

The trustees of Ocean Stars charity would like to extend a huge thank you to Team 2026 and the dedicated staff from Calthorpe Park School for their monumental efforts.
