The Wellbeing Hub

Our dedicated and experienced team supports wellbeing and mental health across CPS, offering a calm, therapeutic space where students feel safe, regulated and understood.

Our Aim

To strengthen studentsโ€™ emotional wellbeing and help them develop the skills to manage challenges in and out of school.

What We Offer

  • Therapeutic environment – a quiet, nurturing space for regulation and reflection
  • 1:1 and group support – short term or longer-term sessions based on individual need
  • Therapeutic approaches – evidence-informed strategies that build resilience, confidence and self regulation
  • Mental Health Ambassador Programme – a highly successful initiative that trains students to support peers and promote positive wellbeing across the school
  • Wellbeing Clubs – opportunities for students to develop confidence, leadership and social-emotional skills through structured wellbeing-focused activities
  • Work with external agencies – collaboration with mental health teams and specialist services to ensure the right support

Students can self-refer to our drop-ins, which run every day in the Wellbeing Hub at break and lunch. You can also contact your childโ€™s tutor, Head of House or email the team directly.

Therapeutic Interventions

ELSA

ELSA is teaching based intervention helping young people manage emotions, build confidence, improve relationships and solve problems. Support is mainly 1:1, with small groups for social skills.

TALA

TALA offers a safe therapeutic space where young people feel heard and supported. Using a person-centred approach, it helps them process emotions, explore coping strategies and build resilience through 1:1 sessions.

Canine Therapy

Canine-assisted therapy uses human-animal bond to help young people feel safe, reduce anxiety and explore emotions. Working with a therapy dog builds trust and supports expression through mainly 1:1 sessions.

Lego Therapy

LEGO Therapy is a collaborative social skills intervention designed to build social competence. It supports joint problem-solving, compromise and turn-taking through structured group activities.

MHST

The team supports children and young peopleโ€™s emotional and mental health across Aldershot and Rushmoor, offering early help, evidence-based interventions and whole-school wellbeing support. See this link for more details about this team.

Clubs

Wellbeing offers a variety of clubs, including Chill and Chat and the Year 7 After School Club. Please see the Clubs List for more information.

Mental Health Ambassadors

Mental Health Ambassadors are trained students who provide peer-mentor support and lead activities that promote awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
