PE Department –
Half Termly Review
As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding half term, the PE Department is delighted to share the achievements, commitment and enthusiasm shown by our students across all areas of school sport. It has been a term full of competitive spirit, memorable experiences and impressive performances, both within school and in our extra-curricular programmes.
Football Successes
The football season is coming to its conclusion and we are thrilled that the Year 7A and Year 7B and Year 8B teams have qualified for the District Cup Finals taking place in May. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects their dedication and determination throughout the season. Meanwhile, our Year 8 team have battled brilliantly to reach the semi‑finals, with their place in the final still to be decided on the final day of the term.
Netball Achievements
Our netball teams have once again demonstrated their skill and competitive spirit. The Year 8, 9 and 10 teams are all in the running for league titles, with final standings yet to be confirmed. Each team has shown exceptional progress this year, and we eagerly await the results of their hard work and commitment.
Rugby and Basketball Fixtures
This term also saw a busy schedule of rugby fixtures, with students showing great resilience and teamwork in every match. Alongside this, our basketball teams concluded their league campaigns with a series of energetic performances.
Curriculum PE and Interhouse Competition
Within lessons, students have now completed their autumn‑to‑spring curriculum, showing excellent effort and progress across a wide range of activities. We now look forward to launching our summer programme after the Easter break, with athletics, tennis, cricket and rounders & softball all on the horizon.
The final week of term brought a fantastic burst of competitive energy with our Interhouse PE competitions. Students from years 7-10 took part with enthusiasm, displaying teamwork, determination and house pride. The contests were closely fought, showcasing not only talent but also the strong sporting values we promote across the school.
