Number Day – February 2018

National Number Day created a great opportunity to embrace our love of all things numerical combined with fund raising for the NSPCC. Students and staff at Calthorpe Park joined together in a mufti day, tutor quiz and ‘Find the Badge’ contest throughout the week.

Our Numeracy Ambassadors designed a competitive quiz for rivalling tutor groups to enjoy, which made them put on their thinking caps! Students also participated in a competition to solve Maths problems in order to then find the staff member with the corresponding number badge. One member of staff was asked “is it your birthday Miss?….”, even when the member of staff was wearing the number 74!

This event has been crowned a very ‘numeric week’ with over 150 students also participating in the National UKMT Maths Challenge on Thursday. We now eagerly await the results in order to celebrate what we are sure will be a fantastic effort.

We would like to thank all those who took part and donated in aid of the NSPCC.
