WHAT TO EXPECT
This trip will deepen studentsโ understanding of both historical and contemporary costume design.
Students will visit the renowned Victoria and Albert Museum, exploring its exceptional fashion and period dress collections. Through direct observation and research, they will gain insight into garment construction, materials, silhouette development, and the social and cultural influences that have shaped dress throughout history.
This experience also includes attendance at a live theatre production later in the academic year, providing an opportunity to study costume design in performance. Students will observe how costumes support character development, storytelling, movement, and visual impact, while considering the effects of lighting and audience perception.
