WHAT TO EXPECT
Our students will take on the role of Sports Leaders as they deliver an exciting and competitive Sports Day for the pupils from The Cambridge School at the Aldershot Garrison. The event will give younger pupils the opportunity to take part in a range of athletics activities, encouraging teamwork, effort and healthy competition.
With guidance from staff, our Sports Leaders will be responsible for organising and running each event. They will explain rules, demonstrate skills, keep scores, and support pupils to perform at their best. While the day will have a strong competitive element, our leaders will ensure that every activity remains inclusive and enjoyable for all participants.
Throughout the day, our Sports Leaders will create a positive and enthusiastic environment, encouraging pupils to challenge themselves, celebrate success, and show good sportsmanship.
By taking on this role, students will develop:
โข Leadership skills โ confidently organising and leading activities
โข Communication and teamwork โ working together to run a successful event
โข Resilience โ responding to challenges and adapting on the spot
โข Fair play and respect โ promoting honesty, encouragement, and positive competition.
By the end of the event, our Sports Leaders not only contribute to a competitive and active day for the primary pupils, but also grow in confidence, responsibility, and pride in their role within the wider school community.
