Autumn Term 2025 – September/October
Dear Parent/Carers
As we approach the end of the first half-term of the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the many successes we have enjoyed so far.
A key highlight was our recent Open Evening, which welcomed over 1,300 visitors to our school. It was a vibrant celebration of The Calthorpe Way, showcasing the values, energy, and excellence that define our community. Students and staff worked together to deliver an impressive evening, and the enthusiasm shown by our students as they guided visitors around the school was truly inspiring.
I am also delighted to share that our Year 7 cohort have settled into the Calthorpe community extremely well. Their positivity and engagement has been a wonderful addition to our school, and they are already making a meaningful impact.
This term has also seen a wide range of enrichment opportunities for our students, including field trips, cultural experiences, our annual Model United Nations, a Careers Fair for Year 10 and 11 students, and participation in the World Robot Olympiad in Slovenia, a prestigious international robotics event that celebrates innovation, creativity and STEM excellence. I would like to thank our dedicated staff for their commitment to providing these valuable experiences, which play an important role in our students’ academic journey and supports their personal development.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Wishing you all a restful and relaxing half-term break,
Mr Kevan John, Headteacher
