A student social space, often used during the summer months.
A purpose built, state of the art space with scoreboard and suspended flooring, used primarily by Mrs Edwards’ PE department and also used for Lettings.
A number of paths lead to the school’s Sports Field which include the running track, long jump, MUGA and floodlit STP.
Ten bright and modern classrooms serve this large Maths department, led by Mr Bibb. Remember you must go along the ‘X’ corridor before you go up the stairs to get to the ‘Y’ when plotting your cooordinates.
This custom space is replete with a kiln and wheels.
Led by Mrs Plunkett, the Hub facilities include specially equipped spaces for students with additional learning requirements and is staffed by a large team of Learning Support Assistants and also includes the school’s Study Unit.
The school’s studios are managed by Mrs Rose-Burns, the Head of Art, Photography & Ceramics. Facilities include a custom Ceramics Studio and Photography Lab.
Mr Elsey oversees a wide range of lessons in a number of fully tooled rooms.

One of the main conduits through the school, this connects the foyer to the halls and out towards the far side of the school.
A versatile space which can be split into two smaller halls or opened into one large space. The halls are often used for assemblies, performances and outside lettings with the tiered seating providing quality viewing for larger audiences.
An indoor space used by PE for multiple activities, this space opens to an outdoor covered area with several table tennis tables.
A small team with a large reach, the school’s music department is led by Mr Walker. Three classrooms and a number of peripatetic rooms enable the school to offer various lessons throghout the year, with two concerts during the Autumn & Spring terms and a full band supporting the school production.
Always there when they are needed, these teams are supported by the School Health & Welfare Officers and a team of four in Safeguarding.
A central cross over point, this space is often used for evening receptions during our Music or Drama performance.
Throughout the year, this unique space changes with the seasons as the leaves turn from green to red and then fall for the winter. Popular with all students, this space has ample seating with astro turf under the trees always popular in the summer months and an abundance of picnic benches. On the first floor of the AB block, the balcony provides an aerial view of the courtyard below with recessed seating outside each of the classrooms.
Mrs Greenaway, the Head of English, leads a large team with twelve classes spread across two floors in the AB block.
The zebra crossing provides easy access across a busy road for families dropping and collecting outside of the school.
Spread across three floors, the schools 12 fully equipped labs support the teaching of Mixed Science, Chemistry, Biology & Physics. Mrs Proctor’s team of scientists and techicians offer a range of practical and theory based experiences.
Mrs Timms Blanch runs this small department, teaching RE from Years 7-8 with different options available from Y9 onwards.
Used by the PE department for tennis, netball and also during break and lunch by students wishing to participate in outdoor activities such as basketball.
Our dedicated MFL block features six classrooms and the Head of Languages, Ms Meaden, ably supported by a talented team of linguists offers three subjects: French, German & Spanish.
The Emotional Literacy Support Assistants, led by Ms Ball, offer a calm and safe space for students needing support to help understand and manage their emotions, ably supported by Luna, our school therapy dog.
The school library is a rich and vibrant learning space, managed by School Librarian, Mrs Eastlake.
With four dedicated classrooms, our Head of History, Mrs Kenny brings the past to life.
Access is via the call entry system located on the wall to the left of the double doors. Press the bell and wait for the reception team to speak to you before entry.
Mrs Shackell, our Head of Drama, oversees the school’s purpose built Drama studio featuring two classrooms which open into a larger space for performances and is often used for the student-led Panto in the Spring term.
Our catering contractors offer a range of menu choices which are regularly updated. With three serving windows and three generous seating areas, there is ample space and serving opportunities for all students.

A registration recognition system is in place. Visitors can park off-site in the Leisure Centre car park or use the buzzer to request access to the school.
